The other week a visitor named Paul came to tell us all about how to make music using loads of peculiar things.
Paul told us all about the different ways he created musical effects for the various films he's worked on. By the end of the visit he had us all making music.

Each week sixth class are lucky enough to get guitar lessons from a very talented musician. At the moment they're all learning 'Chasing Cars' by Snow Patrol and they're doing really well!

This week the class were learning all about gravity in Science in a Box

The class took it in turns to investigate the effects of gravitational pulls.

We've had a great time during Friendship Week in sixth class. The class made friendship balloons to show their appreciation for one another. They wrote nice messages and we created an amazing display with them.

Spooky Halloween in Ms. Ni. G’s!

This year for Halloween, everyone in all the classes dressed up to get into the spirit of all things spooky. In our class, most people put a lot of effort into their Halloween costumes. We had witches, monsters, unicorns, Cruella Da Ville, headless men, mean girls, skeleton princesses, a box, cannibals and even a delicious cheeseburger!! We all had to agree though that by far the scariest costumes were those worn by Niamh and Ms. Ni. G!! Our fun morning was topped off by a movie and a sweetfest! A great day was had by all!

Last year we rescued this little man from the rain! He has since become our beloved class mascot.

We'll keep you updated on his class activity!

Science in a Box

This year our class was lucky enough to be chosen for Science in a Box. We have really enjoyed it and have learnt a lot! In January we explored Boyle's Law, the effects of pressure, the periodic table, magnetism and gravity! Here are some of the experiments we did.

(look closely and you'll see a floating paperclip)

 (yes, that's a hand)

We can't wait to learn more and keep you updated!!!

Sixth were so good in 2015 that they earned a special prize- Bowling!!! Due to their superb bowling skills, Ms Cullen, Ms Ní Ghibealláin and Chloe decided to sit the game out as it wouldn't be fair to the kids. Everyone had a great day! We'd love to go back again :)
